Tune in to PBS this May when the award-winning series From the Top at Carnegie Hall returns with new episodes. Based on the popular NPR program and hosted by acclaimed pianist Christopher O’Riley, the television series takes viewers behind the scenes with today’s rising young musicians, and captures the excitement of their Carnegie Hall debuts. Intimate backstage and hometown footage reveals that these young performers bring passion and determination not only to music, but to everything from speed skating and soccer, to fashion design and model trains. The series will also feature a special guest appearance by renowned concert violinist Gil Shaham.

From the Top at Carnegie Hall is a production of WGBH Boston, From the Top, and Don Mischer Productions in partnership with Carnegie Hall. Emmy Award-winning director Gary Halvorson has signed on to direct the second season of the series. The venerable production team of Halvorson and Don Mischer Productions represents an unprecedented collaboration for public television, and a rare one for the entertainment world at large.
